F-tone QSFP+ (Quad Small Form-factor Pluggable Plus) is a new Multi-Source Agreement (MSA) for high speed application, such as 40G-BASE, which provide four channels of data in one pluggable interface. Each channel is capable of transferring data at 10Gbps and supports a total of 40Gbps.
The 40Gbps QSFP+ transceiver is well suited for Infiniband and 40GBASE-SR4 / 40GBASE-LR4 applications. It combines the higher density attractions of parallel modules with some of the key advantages normally associated with SFP+ based modules. It is intended for use short reach applications in switches, routers and data center equipment where it provides higher density and lower cost when compared with standard SFP+ modules.
FTCQ-8540G-02 Series QSFP SR4 / QSFP+ SR4 / QSFP 40G SR4 It is designed to operate over multimode fiber systems using a nominal wavelength of 850nm. The electrical interface uses a 38 contact edge type connector. The optical interface uses an 8 or 12 fiber MTP (MPO) connector.
FTCQ-1640G-10 Series QSFP LR4 / QSFP+ LR4 / QSFP 40G LR4 It is designed to operate over singlemode fiber system using four 10Gbps CWDM channel in 1300 band. Which is based on two LC connectors for optical connectivity and supports 40Gbps data rate links of up to 10km.
FTCQ-1640G-20 Series QSFP LR4 / QSFP+ LR4 / QSFP 40G LR4 It is designed to operate over singlemode fiber system using four 10Gbps CWDM channel in 1300 band. Which is based on two LC connectors for optical connectivity and supports 40Gbps data rate links of up to 20km.
FTCQ-1640G-40 Series QSFP ER4 / QSFP+ ER4 / QSFP 40G ER4 It is designed to operate over singlemode fiber system using four 10Gbps CWDM channel in 1300 band. Which is based on two LC connectors for optical connectivity and supports 40Gbps data rate links of up to 40km.

QSFP Wiki
The Quad (4-channel) Small Form-factor Pluggable (often abbreviated as QSFP or QSFP+) is a compact, hot-pluggable transceiver used for data communications applications. It interfaces a network device motherboard (for a switch, router, media converter or similar device) to a fiber optic cable. It is an industry format jointly developed and supported by many network component vendors, supporting data rates from 4x10 Gbit/s. The format specification is evolving to enable higher data rates; as of May 2013, highest supported rate is 4x28 Gbit/s.
The QSFP specification supports Ethernet, Fibre Channel, InfiniBand and SONET/SDH standards with different data rate options. QSFP+ transceivers are designed to support Serial Attached SCSI, 40G Ethernet, QDR (40G) and FDR (56G) Infiniband, and other communications standards. QSFP modules increase the port-density by 3x-4x compared to SFP+ modules.
QSFP has 38 pins with 4 high-speed TX pairs (CML-I) and 4 high-speed RX pairs.

Inside QSFP LR4
With a port density of three times higher than traditional SFP transceivers, the QSFP can be used to replace four standard SFP modules in space that is only 30 percent larger than a single SFP; The QSFP requires approximately the same front-panel space of an XFP module. Due to the increased capabilities, over 3X (3.11) times more transceivers can be placed in a given area on a switch or product. The QSFP's unique design repackages the existing SFP transceiver in a way which utilizes a 12-fiber ribbon instead of individual fibers.
